It's finished, it's finished!!!

The wedding bunting is officially finished.  I finally got off my assets and finished the binding, or the string, or whatever you want to call it, that this stuff is going to hang up from - and you know what?  It took me less than an hour.  Shame on me for letting it go on so long, but hey, it looks nice, I think, whaddya think?

What else?  Here's the other stuff I bought last week:
You can't see how beautiful the black silk is, with beading and sequins but it is gorgeous - and the others look pretty good too.  Next weekend, the clutch for sure.  I just bought this from Michelle at KeykaLou, her patterns are really good, easy to follow, with great instructions and good photos.

Then this afternoon I made two more glasses cases for my WMIL* - these are a really pain to make, two tubes and a flap - if you cut the inside tube smaller to make it fit better when it's finished, it's hard to get the two to go round smoothly on the flap; I ended up with a tiny pleat on the outside of one of them - really really annoying - but I don't think you'll see it when it's all pressed up nicely... maybe:

And finally I was reading this blog and I wanted to do something for this woman - what a crap situation to be in - it's only when you read stuff like this you realise what absolute bastards are out there, putting decent people in impossible situations.  Jo, if you read this, mail me at isabellagolightly@gmail.com, because I'd like to do something to cheer you up.

  1. Hi, Isabella. You were so kind as to leave a message on my blog (thank you for your words!) that I immediately wanted to learn about you. While this is my first post to your page, it is my second or third visit.
You have such a talent and passion that must make your friends squeal with giddy delight upon seeing the final product of whatever it is you just made for them.
I can't even sew a button! However, let me just say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE seeing all the patterns and colors of fabrics that you choose-whether they're still incomplete and in piles or whether it's on a finished product. It does something to my senses and brings about a warm feeling and tons of thoughts: "Wonder what she's making next?" "Ooooh, combining those two patterns would make for a nice treat for the eye." "Why didn't I ever learn to sew?????"
Keep doing what you're doing. Thank you for making me smile and for coming by my page and leaving your support (I will try to update daily).
    Much appreciated.
I hope we continue to visit one another--I know that I, for one, could definitely use a reason to feel warm inside a little more often, therefore, I will absolutely return.
    Peace, love and happiness,
    ~Jo

  2. Oh my goodness--you just made me cry! I just now saw your note to me on your blog (that I had somehow overlooked a moment ago)...thank you.

While I, like everyone I suppose, like receiving feedback, I feel terrible that I made you feel badly for our situation, but your kindness and empathy is so deeply appreciated.

I suppose my point in being here is to create/be a part of a community in which I can vent my frustrations over how a 43 year old reasonably intelligent woman ended up in this position.

I think hubby should do this, too. But...he won't.

Instead, we'll continue to to tell one another; "Don't worry, we'll get by we always do"--even if we don't fully believe it ourselves--and help lift each other up when one is feeling more poopie (technical term) than the other about all this.

Then, we'll plot our revenge on the "bottom dweller"/attorney.

    Just kidding--I think.

    ::Writing down Isabella's E-mail address::

Thank you for having such a beautiful soul...and for reaching out.
